he Bobby Pilling Memorial Award was established to honor a treasure of EGA, a
longtime supporter and former national president, Barbara (Bobby) Pilling.
Throughout her many years in EGA, Bobby served twice as a national seminar chairman
and always encouraged stitchers to stretch themselves… to “go outside the lines” with their
embroidery. Her daughter, Helen Pilling, related, “Mother would be very proud to be
honored in this way. She always said it’s not about money; she would rather ribbons be
awarded.”
We encourage you to participate in this program. The requirements: An original piece of
needlework, titled, any technique, accompanied by a short description of what inspired you
to do this piece and “go outside the lines.” Ribbons will be awarded, and the winner will
be featured in an article in Needle Arts with a release to winner’s local newspaper. The
winning entry and selected others will be on display in the Education Department
exhibit at seminar. Deadline: Please send the piece to the Director of Education by
May 5, 2007. Fill out the coupon below and include it in your shipment.
