New Group Correspondence Course: Snowflake Ball

Taught by Denise Harrington Pratt

The Snowflake Ball is a three-dimensional, beaded needlework piece that is constructed based on one of the Archimedean Solids called a truncated octahedron. You don’t have to understand geometry to stitch this fun piece. Students will learn how to use Sticky Fabri-Solvy ™to transfer the snowflake patterns onto the fabric. Many tips and instructions assist the student in embroidering the snowflake designs using backstitch on cotton fabric. The snowflakes are then embellished with seed beads and bugle beads to make the snowflakes sparkle. Lastly, the student learns how to put all the pieces together to construct and properly stuff a beautiful Snowflake Ball.

Crown Jewels of EGA - our new gifting program

EGA is an international leader in the education and conservation of the embroidery arts. To achieve its mission, EGA presents exhibitions of needlework and fiber arts and maintains an extensive library on the textile arts. Membership dues and class fees do not fully support the costs necessary to accomplish EGA’s mission. EGA needs its members to further financially support its overall mission to keep embroidery alive. To that end, we have established the Crown Jewels of EGA. This gifting program is a commitment by individual EGA members to make significant financial donations to EGA over a four year period. Please consider making a commitment to the Crown Jewels of EGA.
