President - Leslie Gagliardi

Leslie Gagliardi is a charter member of the Gentle Pursuits of Richmond, Virginia Chapter and is also a member of several other chapters including CyberStitchers. She joined EGA in 1994 and has served several times as chapter president, vice president-programs, secretary, and region representative. At the region level, she has been outreach chairman, education chairman, assistant region director and region director of the Mid-Atlantic Region, and at the national level, she was the outreach chairman and has served on the product sales and design and nominating committees.

 

Gagliardi earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Lawrence University in Wisconsin. After living in Florida and North Dakota, she worked as a probate paralegal in California and moved to Virginia with her Navy husband in 1986. In addition to service to EGA, she is also active in the Daughters of the American Revolution and Odd Fellows. She enjoys spending time with her four grandsons.

Vice-President - Judy Badger

Judy Badger has been an EGA member of the Mid-Eastern Region since 1986. She has served as president of the Keystone Chapter and is currently a member of the Three Rivers Chapter. She has co-chaired and chaired MER seminars, has served as region director, and is currently region education chair. At the national level, she was assistant chair for EGA Seminar 2009, and chairman of EGA Seminar 2013. She is currently National Seminar Director. Badger is a charter member of Penn-Ohio ANG Chapter, and has served as president, newsletter editor, and bylaws chairman, and as Eastern Area ANG representative.

 

Badger holds a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Geneva College and certification as a registered nurse through Jameson Memorial Hospital, New Castle, Pennsylvania. She is retired from her career as a certified school nurse. She has served as an officer within the Pennsylvania State Education Association, for the Department of Pupil Services executive board and as a member of the board of directors for Drug and Alcohol Community Treatment Services, and for child services and nurses organizations.

 

 

 

Secretary - Joyce McCoig

Joyce McCoig of the San Antonio Chapter has served as treasurer, newsletter editor, vice president of membership, vice president of the evening group, region representative, and twice as chapter president. An EGA member since 1988, McCoig has served the South Central Region as bylaws chair, newsletter editor, assistant director, and director. McCoig has also served at the national level as chair of the bylaws review committee, newsletter reviewer, and member of the scholarship and finance committees.  Most recently, she was Dean of Faculty for EGA National Seminar 2015.

 

McCoig attended Our Lady of the Lake University and worked as a civilian for the United States Air Force for thirteen years. She recently retired as a senior business specialist for the Southwest Research Institute, where she worked for tewnty-seven years in administration and contracts pricing.

 

 

 

 


 

 

Treasurer - Pam Coller

Pam Coller has been an EGA member since the early 1980's and is currently a member of Shasta Stitchers in the Greater Pacific Region, after being a member of the Greater Dallas Chapter (GDC) for more than twenty years. She has served in many chapter positions including president and treasurer. During her time as GDC outreach chair, the chapter presented over three hundred Habitat Samplers. She has served the South Central Region as secretary and education chair. She has also been on several region seminar committees as well as the 2013 national seminar committee.

 

Coller attended Eastern Michigan University, is a federally licensed tax practitioner (enrolled agent), and has had her own business since 1998. She has worked with nonprofit organizations and understand their tax concerns. She is a founder of the Irving Women's Network and has served as its treasurer.

 

 

 

 

Director of Bylaws - Rebecca Wardlaw

Rebecca Wardlaw is a charter member of the Turquoise Trail Chapter, Albuquerque, New Mexico. She has served as chapter president, vice president of programs, newsletter editor, webmaster, and region representative. She chaired the seminar handbook commitee for EGA Semianr 2012 and was assistant semianr chair for the Rocky Mountain Region seminar in 2014.

 

Wardlaw earned a Bachelor of Arts in history, with the highest honors from New Mexico State University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of New Mexico. She has recently retired as Assistant City Attorney for the city of Albuquerque, serving as Managing Assistant Attornmey for the employment law section. Previously, she practiced law in small private firms and operated her own law firm. In her professional practice, she incorporated businesses, drafted bylaws and other coporate documents, and taught college level courses for lawyers, realtors, accountants, adn other professionals.

  

 

 

Director of Education - Barbara Orend

Barbara Orend is a member of the Valley Junction Chapter, Iowa. She has held many chapter offices including region representative and president. At the region level she has been secretary, assistant region director, and Heartland Region director. She grew up in a household where there was always some kind of stitching going on including sewing clothes, knitting, and needlework. She just had to join in.

 

Orend holds a B.B.A. with a major in business education from the University of Iowa. She worked for many years as a secretary. In addition to her EGA activities, she enjoys volunteering at church and teaching crafts at a local shelter.

Director of Membership and Marketing - Karen Hamilton

Karen Hamilton has served in nearly all officer positions for the Greater Dallas Chapter sincejoining EGA in 1987. At the region level, her efforts as treasurer, assistant and region director, and chair of region seminars have yielded valuable experiences.

 

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and biology, did graduate study in biology at the University of Texas, and pursued additional education in grant writing, fundraising, and nonprofit management. As Associate Vice President for Advancement for the Dallas Zoo, a nonprofit organization, she oversees advertising, media and press relations, crisis management, membership events, and development functions. In more than twenty-eight years of experience with nonprofits, Hamilton has been responsible for more than 450 volunteers, revenues of more than $2,000,000 and expernses of more than $1,800,000.
